re:grace

Some statements are most poignant when left short. This is a tweet from Noel Piper.

Autistic boy's mom re grace: When I scraped my son's feces off the wall, God said, "Your sin was more repulsive and I cleaned you."

Repulsive is a word that has come to my mind a number of times recently.
Do we really understand how repulsive our sin (which we often try to justify) is to our holy God? And how compassionate, patient and kind He is to us? There are many moments when you are dealing with a special needs child where God can teach you something of who you really are and of who He is. We are in such need of His longsuffering and His forgiveness and His grace. And He is a God who "waits to be gracious".
